What You Need to Know

Oxbryta, an oral, once-daily therapy first approved in 2019 for patients aged 12 and older (expanded to ages 4+ in 2021), was intended to manage sickle cell disease. Common side effects include headaches, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, rash or hives, and fever.

Sickle Cell Disease Symptoms & Complications:

Patients with sickle cell disease may experience frequent pain episodes, anemia (fatigue, paleness, and weakness), jaundice, painful swelling of hands and feet, acute chest syndrome, blood clots, stroke, vision problems, priapism, and organ damage or failure.

What Is a VOC?

Vaso-Occlusive Crises are a common and dangerous complication of sickle cell disease.

These sudden, painful episodes can lead to additional health issues, including arthritis, kidney failure, and stroke. Data from recent studies indicate that patients taking OXBRYTA experienced more frequent VOCs compared to those who did not.

Compensation may cover medical expenses, costs related to the failure of OXBRYTA to alleviate your symptoms, or damages for health complications caused by the drug. Each case is unique, and our legal team will assess your situation to determine the potential compensation you may be entitled to. Our team of attorneys would not be surprised if successful claimants received hundreds of thousands of dollars.

 Claim Evaluation Process

This is a Mass Tort, Not a Class Action

What’s the Difference & Why It Matters to You

  • Mass Tort: Your case is treated individually, with your unique circumstances and injuries considered.
  • Class Action: Everyone’s injury is treated the same, and you’re grouped together with other victims, regardless of individual details.
  • Higher Payouts: Mass torts often result in larger settlements than class actions, meaning you get more of what you deserve.
  • More Control: You have a say in settlement negotiations, which can lead to better compensation that’s tailored to your specific situation.

Examples of Mass Tort Settlements:

Families Receiving Justice

March 2024: Keller Postman achieved a monumental victory, securing a $60 million jury verdict in the very first trial to hold manufacturers of cow’s-milk based formula accountable for causing NEC in premature infants. In this landmark case, a St. Clair, Illinois jury unanimously found in favor of our client, proving that Mead Johnson’s Enfamil formula caused her son to tragically die from NEC.
